You should also be aware of the psychological phenomenon called synchronicity which was introduced by the Swiss psychologist Dr Carl Gustav Jung. To give you the general notion let me just say that according to his research there are conscious (of which we are aware of) and unconscious (of which we are not aware of) elements of our psyche. The unconscious ones want to manifest themselves in the outside world so often when you are searching for the answers, they suddenly appear (e.g. you are walking down the street wondering about something and you come across the road sign or advert which somehow answers your question). Cards can be a very useful tool to understand this process.
